: This writing intend to know and describes the policy of local government in case to conserve traditional art on Makassar city and what kind of factors that influence the conserve of traditional arts of Makassar city. The result of the research showing that the local government Makassar city have a policy in case to conserve traditional arts of Makassar city. The local government policy in case to conserve the traditional arts in Makassar city is : (1) Held a group arts development; (2) became a facilitators of facilities and infrastructure to art group at traditional arts event; (3) Became a mediator to all people to develop touring potential for get a fund assistance from the private agencies; (4) cooperate with arts group in Makassar city; (5) Held a daily event, traditional arts show. the supporting factors of executioning the conserve of traditional arts in Makassar city are : (1) government, (2) Society. And the obstacles factors to execute the conserve is : (1) modernization, (2) lack of teenager interest to learn traditional arts; (3) the media raise less information about traditional arts; (4) Sosial change; (5) All traditional artist that lack in creativity and innovation.
